On June 19th, one of DCOM's 2007 Recognized Programs of Excellence (POE), Holyoke
Health Center, received favorable press as a result of our
2007 POE press release.

Here is how the story transpired...
DCOM sent a press release to the Boston Globe regarding the recognized Programs of
Excellence for 2007. The Boston Globe picked up the story and made the connection
between the Holyoke Health Center (HHC) and the probable state budget cuts.  On
June 19th, a
fabulous story was published in the Boston Globe about HHC.  Soon
after, the news anchor  of Channel 22 expressed interest in covering the story.  On
June 20, Channel 22 came out to HHC to report on a Breakfast Club and meet with
patients and program staff.  The story was aired on channel 22 5-6 pm on June 20th.
Holyoke then sent a follow up letter to the editor of the Globe to get more press
coverage and have sent out a press release to the Sunday Republican.
